Getting It Write

The new May/June issue of Writer's Digest arrived in the mail yesterday with my "anti-revision" article in it. It's part of a very well done section telling fiction and non-fiction writers how to handle revisions or to avoid them entirely. I've posted the cover and the first page of the article. Burgundy's Petit Negociants

Just published in The Drinks Business. The article comes from two trips to Burgundy last year, the first for Grands Jours, and the second for the auction at Hospices de Beaune. During my travels, I talked with several small producers who nevertheless made wines from the best vineyards. I asked how that happened. Here's the answer.

Drinks Mag: Mendocino

I've been writing for Drinks magazine since 2005, and most of the assignments I've had for them have me reporting from various winemaking regions around the world. Although California is almost as far away to fly from my home in Pennsylvania as it is to go Bordeaux or Rioja, whenever I get on a plane bound west for San Francisco, I feel like I'm reporting from my back yard. In the most-recent issue of Drinks, my back yard is the valleys and mountains of Mendocino County.
